What is The Best Calorie Intake To Lose Weight?

When starting a new fitness program to lose wieght a common question is about calorie intake to lose weight. A common formula for figuring out calorie intake to maintain weight is -

Women:
655 + (4.3 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years)

Men:
66 + (6.3 x weight in pounds) + (12.9 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in years)

After you have this number you need to multiply the number by 20% to 50% depending on how active you are during the day. For example if you are very active you need to multiply by 50% or .50 and then add this number to the first number from the formula. This will be the calories needwed to maintain your current weight. Now in order to lose weight you just remove 300 - 500 calories from this final number. This is the amount of calorie intake to lose weight.
